It started during my time at Texas Tech, photographing my Theta sisters’ grad photos before grad sessions were really even a thing. Before long, I was photographing their weddings—and, years later, some of their growing families. Weddings took me across the country, while my work closer to home gradually brought me into homes, businesses, and the lives of the people who give West Texas its character.
Somewhere along the way, I realized the photographs I’m most drawn to are often the simplest ones—the way people love, work, gather, and make a life. These days, I’m less interested in filling my calendar and more interested in making good photographs with people who value them. I want to leave room to notice what’s already there—the meaningful, funny, beautiful, and ordinary parts of a life being lived.
